wood replacement items and is used in a wide variety of applications.
2 Hazards Identification
Effects of Overexposure: Inhalation of dust generated during processing can irritate nose, throat and respiratory tract. In some sensitive individuals, repeated exposures to certain wood dusts can produce allergic skin and respiratory reactions including asthma and rhinitis. Inhalation of certain wood fibers can cause nasal cancer.
Emergency Response Data: Natural Solid. Exposure to fire can generate toxic fumes. High dust levels may create potential for explosion.
3 First Aid Measures
Eye Contact: Flush thoroughly with water. If irritation occurs, contact appropriate health care professional.
Skin Contact: If irritation occurs, wash with soap and water.
Inhalation: If respiratory irritation, cough, shortness of breath, wheezing or chest tightness occurs after exposure to dust, remove person to fresh air, seek medical attention.
Ingestion: Not expected to be a problem when ingested. If uncomfortable, seek medical assistance.
4 Fire-Fighting Measures
Extinguishing media: Water, foam, dry chemical
Special Fire-fighting Procedures: Use water to keep exposed product cool. Fire fighters must use self-contained breathing apparatus in enclosed area.
Unusual fire and explosion Hazards: Exposure to fire can generate toxic fumes. High dust levels may create potential for explosion. Flash point >220 Degree (estimate)
NFPA Hazard ID. Health 0; Flammability: 1; Reactivity: 0
Hazardous Decomposition Product: Carbon monoxide, Acetaldehyde, Formic acid, Formaldehyde, Acetic acid.
5 Accidental Release Measures
Notification Procedures: None.
Procedures if material is Released or Spilled: Not Applicable for product in purchased form. Where dusty conditions are created as a result of cutting or sawing, wet sweep or vacuum dust for disposal. Personnel performing cleanup must use protective equipment.Environmental Precautions: Prevent spills from entering storm sewers or drains and contact with soil.
Waste Disposal Methods: Dispose in accordance with applicable Local regulations.
6 Handling and Storage
Handling: Do not use in applications where heavy structural loads or bracing is required. KindWood is heavier than most traditional lumber product; proper handling is required to prevent damage or injury. Do not burn in fireplace or use as firewood.
Storage: Do not store in open or unlabelled containers. Store away from strong
oxidizing agents or combustible material.
Storage Temperature: N/A
7 Personal Protection
Ventilation: Use with adequate ventilation in processing operations. No special
requirements under ordinary conditions of use and with adequate ventilation.
